Zoe's Sad News

Zoe here coming to you from Chapel Hill:

With a very heavy heart, I want to let you know that Phaedra left my world on April 27, 2017 after a very brief illness.  For reasons unknown, Phaedra went into kidney failure our last week on Sanibel.  We rushed her home and she spent one night in the Triangle Veterinary Speciality Hospital.  When we learned that nothing could be done to help her, she came home to spend her last day with the family who loved her with all their might and at the place she had known for 14 years.  She spent the day being pampered and loved and then went peacefully across the Rainbow Bridge.

May Phaedra's memory always be for a blessing!

Phaedra will still be traveling by my side on every trip that I take with the folks.  I am sure that she will find a way to "help" me get into trouble and to annoy me like she sometimes did.  I am going to continue to write our blog, and she will just be my "ghost dog writer" who maybe encourages me to do things that scare me a bit - (she always did give me courage, you know)!

I loved Phaedra from the first time I saw her.  She even let me chew on her with my sharp baby teeth! I want to give you a sample of the things we did together over my 9 years by her side, so keep looking if you want to see some of the places she took me to.

My new sister, Phaedra.  She wasn't sure about me at first, but then she loved me to pieces forever after!  Sometimes she'd look at Papa and Mama as if to say, "Can't we leave her by the side of the road?"

Phae is thinking, who is this strange baby who sleeps and eats, and chases me.  Lucky me to have a sister like her!
