Dad loses his whimpiness

Phaedra here: Before I start any writing, I hope that you will take notice of what is missing from these photos. Not to point out the obvious, but just who is writing this blog anyway???

We get to walk around the campground; not up the beautiful canyon to Mossy Cave or to the great little waterfalls can we trek. Oh, no! Not anywhere fun like that. No swimming for us. No communing with nature! Not us! Having Parker around, though, was lots of fun actually. She kept us going anytime she was awake. She stayed with us for 3 nights and we had parties every morning when all of us climbed in bed with Mom and Dad. One morning we even had party hats. I looked beautiful!

Ride a horse into the canyon? You've got to be kidding. That's what Mom and Dad did. He got the idea from campers we met earlier who said it was a wonderful experience even if you weren't a rider. Well, Mom had reservations because she said she knew what horses could do and what could go wrong. But, she went along anyway and they got back all right. I guess it was kinda scary but beautiful. They saw formations they wouldn't be able to see otherwise and proved that they could "just do it"! I love the pictures of Dad. He said that most of the time he had his eyes closed when he went around corners. Can you imagine?

The family stayed in the camper for 3 days. It was close quarters, but we all had a good time. They left for Moab and we stayed for 2 more days. The folks hiked in the Red Canyon and then did a 4 mile rim walk at Bryce. I was proud of Dad with his fear of heights. We saw lots of pronghorn antelope, mule deer and even a few elk but we never could get out and chase them.

Well it's on to Monument Valley next. Wonder what that will be like?

Since I am having lots of trouble adding pictures to this part of my blog, I'm going to try to add them somewhere else and send you a link.

Keep those dog bones close by for when we get home.
Bow Wow for now from Zoe and me.
